Old couches on the street are a common scene around here. We always stop to try them out...anyone for a couch selfie? :)

Best couch picture we have taken...and I might have lice now...

Some of our  investigators and neighbors in their homes.....

The craziest thing that happened this week...we got stranded in the middle of a HUGE rainstorm and watched cars floating around for an hour!! It was insane!!!

Feliz Ano Novo! 1/5/16

Happy New Year´s everyone!!

Unfortunately, we had to stay in the house on New Year´s Eve, but Brazil throws quite the party, let me tell you!! I´ve never heard so many fireworks in my life!!!

This week was pretty rough with our investigators, but Sister Bundy and I are working as hard as ever, and we´ve been finding some new people to teach, which is very exciting :) I know there are a lot of people here who are just waiting to hear about Christ and how His Atonement can help their families. What a great message we have!!

In other news, we saw a monkey today!!! We were walking in a new area and spotted this tiny little monkey sitting on a car!! We were freaking out; it was so cute! I love Brazil. Although I have yet to see a tarantula...hopefully that won´t change my mind :)

My rash has completely gone away, so that´s a blessing :) The other Sisters were sick this week, but we´ve been taking good care of them. It has been a pleasure to live with them.

Our English class went well this week and we did a review of everything we´ve learned so far. Our students were pleasantly surprised by how much they can say :)

Also, I´ve been learning how to make some traditional Brazilian food, so that´s exciting! Sister Bundy and I made Pao de Queijo twice this week from scratch, and we were quite happy with the results :)

...AND we got new beds! A new mattress is a beautiful thing :)

                                                            We LOVE our new beds!!!!!!

Hope you are all doing well and have already made some goals for the new year. 2 Nephi 27:23 says that God can work miracles in our lives if we just have faith. I challenge everyone to make a goal this year to increase your faith by praying, reading The Book of Mormon, and attending church. I know that if you do these things, consistently, God truly can work miracles in your life. I´ve seen so many miracles this week alone. God is real and He has blessing just for you. All you have to do is believe and act on that belief :)

All my love,
Sister Doyle

What a week. :) 12/28/15

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and that you felt lots of love from everyone around you :)

I had a rather interesting week this week, mainly because on Tuesday, I woke up with my eye swollen shut and an itchy rash all over my face. With the help of Sister Silcox, we decided it must be an allergic reaction, so we went to the pharmacy to buy some anti-allergy medication.

Unfortunately, they didn´t have any non-drowsy kind....So I was pretty much a zombie all week, falling alseep any time I had something to lean on. We didn´t really get to work for 4 days straight because of that, which was quite the bummer. However, we had lots of funny moments (including me falling alseep on the bus and falling out of my seat onto the floor) and I got a lot closer with my companion(s). I know Heavenly Father will help us make up for the lost days if we continue to work even harder than ever. And now my face is pretty much back to normal! Yippee!!

Christmas was great, especially getting to Skype my family. They´re the best :) I know that family is so essential to God´s plan for us. He put us in families so that we can know what it means to love and be loved. And if you´re having problems in your family, don´t get discouraged! Families are by no means perfect, but with the Gospel, patience, and a lot of love, I know that any family situation can get better. I love my family so much!! And I love promising the people of Brazil that they can be with their families forever. What an amazing gift that is!!

Sorry that I don´t have much more to say about this week (I was sleeping through a lot of it haha) but I´m so excited to get back out and work even harder this week! The Gospel is so good and I can´t believe I have this opportunity to share it!

Keep praying and have a fantastic New Years!

All my love,
Sister Doyle
